Olive Oil is our first doeling out of Magic Apple LVT Adanac (Andy). We are very excited to see how Olive matures. She freshened with twins this year and her doeling is her spitting image. Her first freshening udder, although small, is well attached and sits high and tight. The teats are long and should widen if she remains true to her lineage. And, like most of our girls, she’s a sweet natured goat who is friendly and loves to be with her humans.

Yuma’s First Kids

Deckard (left) and Pris

Our first buck, Yuma, is pretty sweet and his first set of kids (by Iris) are shown in the photo above at one day old.  Bridgeport KCM Pris freshened at a farm close by this year with gorgeous quads.  We will be repeating this breeding for the third time this year and will be retaining a doeling.

Yuma’s photo above does not do him justice.  He has matured nicely and his kids have been beautiful.  We finally kept his 2011 doe LeeLoo, who can be seen on our doe page.  She is a flashy, dairy doe.  We are pleased with how she is maturing.

Check out our new Ancestor Photo Albums for a visual history of Yuma’s pedigree.

And, she’s a dream to milk, just like her dam and grand dam.  She is a credit to her sire, Old Mountain Farm H Voltage.  Much to my chagrin, I under-used Volt and then sold him before I could appreciate his potential.  Beauty has inherited his dairy length and angularity.  I am so pleased with this doe.  She is bred to Dragonfly IH Buckaroo Bansai and is due March 3, 2014.

The photo to the right shows Finn at birth being cleaned by 3 generations of dams, including Iris (right), his great grand dam, Priscilla (left), his grand dam, and his dam, Storm (middle).  This is the only photo I have of Storm as an adult.  She was a lovely doe but we lost her last year.  She freshened only once and Finn was her only kid.  I am so glad to have him.

I just love this first freshener doe.  I freshened Angie and her two sisters this year and I was impressed by all three.  Angie is long with a lovely rump.  Her udder is high and she has a smooth fore udder.  She has lovely legs and blends nicely along her top line.  She is one of my friendliest does and is has perfect milk stand manners.  She’d make a nice addition to any milking string.

Souri, as we call her, is a lovely doe and super sweet. I brought Souri home along with my new buck Rogue because you can’t drive for 5 hours to pick up a buck and not bring home a doe too!! I tried to sneak her past my husband but she was so friendly, I couldn’t keep her a secret.

Souri has a soft, easy to milk udder with large, long teats. She earned her milk star during her first lactation on DHIR! Thanks Noall’s Ark!! I can’t wait to see what she brings to our breeding program.

Unfortunately, we lost Souri in 2019. We were devastated to lose her.

Meet Andy.  I wasn’t in the market for a buck but I couldn’t turn him down when my dear friend Cara with Magic Apple Farms called me.  He fostered with our LeeLoo who kidded about 18 hours following Andy’s birth.  She must have smelled him because she started licking him like he was her own.  He feels lovely under that winter coat with a wide, level rump, sharp angulation and a fine escutcheon.  I can’t wait to clip him this spring.  He was bred to Claire and Lexi for the 2016 season and kids will arrive in March.

Isabel (Izzy) has matured into a very nice doe.  Like her half sister Iris, she has improved with age.  She has nice large teats that are easy to milk.  She milked continuously for 2 years after her 2013 freshening.  I would prefer a longer rump and a smoother fore udder transition.  Otherwise, she is a lovely example of Kannah Creek breeding.

Rita freshened at just under one year old with a single buck. She has the distinction of being the only goat in my herd that has ever experienced bloat. It occurred a week before kidding and she kidded a week early as a result (I’m guessing). Her udder and milk test have been unimpressive as a result. Her teat size is amazing though and she’s a dream to milk. Her temperament is sweet and she’s an easy keeper. Looking forward to seeing what she can do in the future.

Her first freshener udder was lovely, high and globular with well placed teats. And, this year, as a 7 year old, she kidded easily with triplets and her udder is still high and tight. Her teats are easy to milk and her temperment is sweet and gentle too. She’s never been a heavy milker and has never received her star. But her kids are amazing. She has a wonderful rump, is very dairy with wide, open ribs and paired with a milky buck, Priscilla performs! Her three daughters who freshened this year are good examples of this phenomenon. She was bred this year to Inigo who has some common ancestry with Priscilla. Her 3 blond 2019 daughters are beautiful and look so similar, it’s hard to tell them apart.

Dew Drop is a welcome addition to our herd. She comes from our sister farm Talley Farms. Dew Drop is a lovely long, upstanding doe . She freshened with one doeling in 2022 at 11 months with a soft as butter, easily expressing high and tight udder in a round escutcheon. Her dam, Rosetta, puts the milk in the bucket.

Wednesday has matured beautifully. At just over 2 years old, she continues to mature. I love her udder. The teat placement is awesome and she milk so nicely.  She had a single doeling for her first freshening and her high test day was 3.6 lbs. She is easily on track to earn her *M in lbs, bf and protein. She is nicely balanced, long, and smoothly blended.
