Yuma in “Show Duds”

Yuma’s First Kids

Deckard (left) and Pris

Our first buck, Yuma, is pretty sweet and his first set of kids (by Iris) are shown in the photo above at one day old.  Bridgeport KCM Pris freshened at a farm close by this year with gorgeous quads.  We will be repeating this breeding for the third time this year and will be retaining a doeling.

Yuma’s photo above does not do him justice.  He has matured nicely and his kids have been beautiful.  We finally kept his 2011 doe LeeLoo, who can be seen on our doe page.  She is a flashy, dairy doe.  We are pleased with how she is maturing.

Check out our new Ancestor Photo Albums for a visual history of Yuma’s pedigree.

2013: twins, doe & buck

Gidget freshened in 2013 with twins and has inherited her dam’s creamy, dream to milk, udder.  She easily birthed her 2 kids with no muss, no fuss, outside the fence and I found her when they were dry.  She is currently bred to Lost Valley Dax Sea Doo *B.  She is due Feb 21, 2014.

I am just loving this doe!  She is long and level.  With her genetics, I expect some great things from her.  Plus, she inherited Priscilla’s sweet disposition.

Beauty freshened with a lovely, high and tight udder with long, perfectly centered teats. And, she’s a dream to milk, just like her dam and grand dam.  She is a credit to her sire, Old Mountain Farm H Voltage.  Much to my chagrin, I under-used Volt and then sold him before I could appreciate his potential.  Beauty has inherited his dairy length and angularity.  I am so pleased with this doe.  She is bred to Dragonfly IH Buckaroo Bansai and is due March 3, 2014.

Cookie has one of the nicest udders in our herd.  Her udder is soft in texture and she has large teats with big orifices that make milking a joy.  Her milk let down is just a beautiful thing.  She is currently being milked through the winter and enjoying a rest from breeding in 2014.

I am sorry to say we lost Cookie to cancer this winter.  We sure miss her!

2016 will be Finn’s second kidding season.  He produced many beautiful daughters last year including Bridgeport Farms BF Lexi who can be seen on the senior doe page.  Finn is long, level, and angular with great legs.

The photo to the right shows Finn at birth being cleaned by 3 generations of dams, including Iris (right), his great grand dam, Priscilla (left), his grand dam, and his dam, Storm (middle).  This is the only photo I have of Storm as an adult.  She was a lovely doe but we lost her last year.  She freshened only once and Finn was her only kid.  I am so glad to have him.

I just love this first freshener doe.  I freshened Angie and her two sisters this year and I was impressed by all three.  Angie is long with a lovely rump.  Her udder is high and she has a smooth fore udder.  She has lovely legs and blends nicely along her top line.  She is one of my friendliest does and is has perfect milk stand manners.  She’d make a nice addition to any milking string.

Uhura, freshened with a lovely udder.  It had a soft texture and her teats were easy to milk.  Plus, she was a rock from her first day on the milk stand.

Gorgeous doe.  She takes after her grand dam, ARMCH Dragonfly M Skylark *DDicta is a joy to milk.  She expresses quickly and is a good producer.  Her overall conformation is nice.  She could use some improvement with her rear attachments and better transition in the fore udder.  I love her temperament and her kids this year and last are gorgeous.

Meet one of my favorite doelings from 2016. Gretel is a lovely doe with great conformation. She is long and level with a nice rump, great legs and she’s pretty too! Her first freshening udder was a dream to milk. Buttery soft and it milked down to nothing. Her maternal line matures slowly so I think she is going to grow into an exceptional doe.

Violet freshened in 2018 with triplets. She is a milk machine!! She milked over 2 lbs the first time separated from kids for ~ 14 hrs at 3 weeks fresh. I’m sorry to see her go, but I’m glad she’s going to have the opportunity to milk her heart out at her new home. She has a gorgeous doeling for sale by a Dax Sea Doo breeding.

Iris joined us August of 2009 after her second freshening.  She taught us how to milk and how to play the rodeo milking game.  Which, by the way, we won!

Iris easily obtained her milk star in 2011.  She continues to be one of our best milkers and our nicest overall doe.  She is currently being milked through the winter and enjoying a rest from breeding in 2014.

Souri, as we call her, is a lovely doe and super sweet. I brought Souri home along with my new buck Rogue because you can’t drive for 5 hours to pick up a buck and not bring home a doe too!! I tried to sneak her past my husband but she was so friendly, I couldn’t keep her a secret.

Souri has a soft, easy to milk udder with large, long teats. She earned her milk star during her first lactation on DHIR! Thanks Noall’s Ark!! I can’t wait to see what she brings to our breeding program.

Unfortunately, we lost Souri in 2019. We were devastated to lose her.
