When you invest in a herd share, you are buying a piece of the Bridgeport Farms dairy goat herd.  We are committed to buying only disease free animals for our herd and test routinely in order to monitor the herd’s continued health and well being. Last test was 2020 and all adults tested negative for CAE, CL, and Johnes.

The purchase of a herd share entitles the owner of the share to contribute to the herd’s upkeep and share in its bounty.  That means you receive a share of the raw goat’s milk.  The milk from a Nigerian Dwarf goat is delicious and tastes (my husband says) a bit like melted vanilla ice cream.  Its higher butter fat content makes it sweet!  No goaty taste with this milk.  We feed locally grown alfalfa, orchard grass, sunflower seeds, minerals and grain in order to produce our wonderful milk.  And, the cheese it makes is pretty amazing too!
